Creatures of Falcon

Long ago, a tribe of humans was entrusted with the sacred rune, a powerful source of magic capable of altering the essence of the land to create life. They were separated from the rest of humanity and sent to live on a floating island with the sole purpose of protecting this magical artifact.

As time passed, the humans' knowledge of their duty as protectors faded into legend, and the rune became a mere relic of their forgotten past. However, after city Ghibli was burned down the rune fell into the hands of ancient dragons.

Unfortunately, the power of sacred rune was unknown to dragons. And without considering the consequences they used it during one of their magical experiments. The magic of the rune was unleashed upon the floating lands, giving rise to all manner of strange and wondrous creatures such as Fairies, Centaurs, Boggles, and the Mushroom tribe.

Realizing the magnitude of their blasphemy, when they understood that they used divine magic, the dragons gave the rune back to humans and allowed them to rebuild their ruined city. Humans sealed the rune away deep within their castle, ensuring that it could never be used again. As each new race established its home on the floating lands, territories were divided. Fairies claimed the northern forests, while the southern swamps were transformed into habitable spaces by the Centaurs.

The Boggles, however, with their malevolent nature, were forced by fairies to live underground, emerging only at night to pilfer from the other tribes. In time, the floating lands became a patchwork of unique territories, each with its own distinct inhabitants and cultures. But even as the humans and their fellow creatures went about their lives, they could not help but feel a sense of unease, knowing that the power of the sacred rune still lingered deep within their castle walls.

Eventually, to ensure the safety of the rune as each tribe became as strong as humans, the rune was split into 4 pieces, each tribe with the exception of Mushrooms and Boggles received one to protect it, in order to ensure that the rune would never be used again.
